I enjoyed this story. It was definitely a different take on vampires. For the most part, Daniel didn't really seem like one. Only a few times is blood mentioned within the story and there is very little actual biting. Daniel and Jade end up participating, and being the focus, for a reality show that is supposed to be about matching the vampire bachelor up with his "beloved". For the most part, that's not actually what the shows about but Jade is Daniel's beloved so it does come into play. Daniel has his work cut out for him on convincing Jade that he isn't a bad guy and that she truly is his beloved. There isn't a ton of action in this story but it was entertaining to read. This story focuses more on the interactions between Jade and Daniel and their building trust and a relationship. The sex is fairly explicit when it happens but is not a big part of the story. Overall, I enjoyed reading it.

This is another really amazing, emotional book by this author and my 2nd favorite book by her. In this one we have Daniel a rich vampire and Jade a human who absolutely hates vampires for very personal reasons. She gets talked into going to a club where people volunteer to be with vampires on a reality TV show by her best friend Jenna. When she first meets/ bumps into Daniel he's a jerk and that for sure does not help her attitude/impressions of vampires at all. He chooses her out of the crowd to be his for the week she is so furious. As soon as he sees her he just knows she is his and will do anything to make her his. He is determined to get her to open her heart to him and change her views of vampires and to give him a chance. She will do anything for her baby brother who is sick and she has been taking care of since their parents died. After spending time with him and having to compete for his "heart" her views are definitely changing. Daniel is also so sweet and caring and protective of her and her brother. There is definitely the right amount of drama that makes this good. There are some twists and crazy surprises in this that will keep you wanting more and on edge til the end. My heart went out to Jade and Daniel. They had to endure a lot to be happy once she finally opened her heart to him. And you can't help but fall in love with her baby brother who is just so adorable and funny. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
In the beginning a girl is forced to go with a vampire she despises and participate in a reality match making show (think bachelor or bachelorate). I really think the love developed too quickly to be realistic. Within days he proposes to her and she accepts. The world is in the future by at least a decade, but that's not really made known until 50% through the book.

This book also feels like it has 2 very different plots. The first one is with Jade winning the match making show and the second one happens after she's kidnapped. Personally, I was pretty bored until the second plot happened. Character development and background development could've been better.

I guess if you like rushed love , married in a week sort of stories, then you'd appreciate this book.

I've read 3 other books by this author, soul mate, spellbound, and the witch and the vampire king, and I think the world development and love between characters is developed better. Don't judge this author based on this book.

I loved this story! I think it has 5 star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 potential if it had another round of editing. The characters were all relatable and the storyline was exciting. I am looking forward to reading the entire series!
The intriguing plot does not conclude but leads to the next book in the series. It is very possible that there is betrayal in the near future by someone close to Daniel . Good character build up and I look forward to the next installment in the "Mate Series".
